Siegbert Horn

Siegbert Horn ( born May 11, 1950 in Hartmann village near Lubben ) is a German canoeist, Olympic champion and world champion in canoe slalom, who competed for East Germany.

Horn in 1967 and 1968 GDR youth champion. 1969 and 1971 he won the championship title in the one - kayaking in the adult class. 1971 Horn won the individual competition at the World Championships in Meran, with the team he finished in second place. At the Olympic Games 1972 Olympic competitions were held in the canoe slalom for the first time. On the Augsburg Eiskanal Horn won just before the Austrian Norbert Sattler. 1973 Horn was at the World Championships in Muotatal second behind Sattler, but won together with Christian Döring and Wolfgang Büchner the team competition. 1975 in Skopje Horn was once again single world champion and finished with the team to third place.

The trained lathe started for the ASK forward Leipzig, he studied during his career and later worked as a certified physical education teacher at the University of Leipzig. Siegbert Horn is now physiotherapist in Pirna.
