Oliver Fix

Oliver Fix ( born June 21, 1973 in Augsburg ) is a former German canoeist. In 1996 he became Olympic champion in canoe slalom.

Fix started for canoe Schwaben Augsburg, the canoe sports department of TSV Schwaben Augsburg, and trained at the Augsburg ice track. In 1990, he won with the team at the Junior World Championships in the individual kayaker finished fifth. After 1991 and 1994 respectively occupies the third place at the German Championships and 1993 German team champion had become, Fix succeeded in 1995, the breakthrough at the top. At the World Championships in Nottingham, he won the singles competition and won with Thomas Becker and Jochen Lettmann the title in the team standings.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta Fix was able to win the competition in the Ocoee Whitewater Center before the Slovenes Andraž Vehovar and Thomas Becker as the reigning world champion. 1998 married Oliver Fix the canoeist Gilda Montenegro, which has participated twice for Costa Rica in the Olympics.
