Sieges Even
Sieges Even was founded in Munich in 1986 progressive metal band. Trademarks are a more or less depending on the album great jazz influence and comparatively highly complex and detailed elaborate arrangements. The individual albums have each other to a high stylistic variation. The composition of the band changed often, they had four different singers during the period of its existence. The only constant was the rhythm team of brothers Alex and Oliver Holzwarth.
Band History
The first album Life Cycle of 1988 was clearly attributable to the metal, even though the complex arrangements were characteristic from the beginning. With the second album, Steps, however, the reversal took place at a much less tough style. After this album it came to the separation of Franz herd, which was replaced by Jogi emperor. The third album A Sense of Change led the chosen path, but then rose and Steffen Kaiser left the band. They were replaced by Wolfgang Zenk and Greg Keller, with whom the album Sophisticated was added, the slightly more goes into the metal direction again. On the next album Uneven also came with Keller's brother Börk first time a keyboardist to Sieges Even.
The lack of commercial success of the band between 1999 and 2004 led to a break. Between 1997 and 2005, Oliver Holzwarth had temporarily held the post of live bassist of the more widely known and more successful power metal band Blind Guardian, while his brother Alex was the drummer of Italian Shooting -Star -Power - metallers Rhapsody. Wolfgang Zenk in 1999 founded the instrumental Progressive-/Fusion-Band 7for4 and thus left Sieges Even, which was also true for Greg and Börk cellar. Steffen 1999 she took a solo album on which was founded by Bernhard Drax from him now -defunct micro- label " Calamus Records " and tried his skill with a guitar book to pass on to young guitarists.
The first attempts at resuscitation were held under the name Looking Glass Self. Steffen started again with Alex and Oliver Holzwarth cooperate, thus excluding the singer the original line-up was complete again. As a singer, initially operated under the name André Matos, who had previously stepped out with Angra, but was then replaced by the Dutchman Arno Menses. The band was called now first Val'Paraiso on which to Progressive Metal / Rock oriented Headway Festival 2004 (including with Watchtower ) the name was changed, however, already again under the name Sieges Even.
With this lineup eventually an album under the name Sieges Even was published again with The Art of Navigating By the Stars in 2005, the Paramount (produced by Kristian Kohlmannslehner ) followed by another. After the release of the live album Playgrounds the band but their resolution declared in September 2008 due to internal differences. Steffen and menstruation formed the band Subsignal that previously brought out three albums.
