Siemens S70

Avanto is a tram - car family from Siemens Mobility, which is also suitable for operation on main-line railways.

Concept

The Avanto concept is to multi-system steel vehicles which satisfy largely the requirements of the full rail operations on standard gauge. Features of such a five-part vehicle are, depending on the vehicle length, 70 to 80 percent low-floor area between the entry doors, two motor bogies at the ends of vehicles and flexible customizable exterior and interior design.

France

Paris

On 18 November 2006, the first eight-kilometer route, the line was T4, inaugurated in Paris. Between the two suburbs of Paris Aulnay -sous -Bois and Bondy on the Avanto tram lines in the city centers as well as on the upside here formerly disused railway network outside of places. Therefore, the Avanto is also known as Tram-Train. The T4 line is the connection between the two Regionalzuglinien RER B and RER E. The Paris Avanto has five per vehicle side sliding doors with additional sliding step to balance between platform and train. Alsace

On 12 December 2010, the Avanto officially took on the tram in Mulhouse as Tram-Train Mulhouse- Vallée de la Thur in Alsace on its operation.
