Sils im Domleschg (Romansh Seglias ) is a municipality in the district Domleschg, District Hinterrhein the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

Geography

The Domleschg is one of the most beautiful and varied valleys of Graubünden. Thanks to the exceptionally favorable climate Domleschg is also called the orchard of Graubunden. The special geographical location with the narrow, easy to control transport routes made ​​the area Domleschg to most castles in Europe. Languages

Until the 19th century was in Sils Sutselvisch, a Grison Romanesque dialect spoken. In 1900, less than 10% were already Romansh and since 1920 the church has monolingual German.

Both the Romansh as the Italian speakers are immigrants. Immigrants from Italy integrate linguistically more and more. Therefore, the proportion of Italian has declined steadily in recent decades. Authorities language is German.

Sils is served by bus lines of the post bus Grisons. In neighboring Thusis hold regional trains and express trains of the Rhaetian Railway.

In Sils there is a power plant and a substation, which are operated from the power plant of the city of Zurich ( EWZ ), the Nordostschweizerischen power plants ( NOK) and the power plants back Rhine ( CHR ).
