Rongellen

Rongellen (Romansh Runcáglia, Runtgaglia or Runtgiaglia ) is a municipality in the district of Shams, District Hinterrhein the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

Geography
Rongellen located on the edge of the Via Mala halfway between Thusis and Zillis. Neighboring communities of Rongellen are wages, Thusis, Sils im Domleschg and Zillis- Reischen.
Special
Rongellen has for some years (about 1999) the municipality with the lowest tax rate in the Grisons. He is 30 % of the simple cantonal tax.
Population
Languages
The municipality inhabitants speak German since the settlement of the Middle Ages. Whether they are descended from immigrant Walser, is unclear. Until the beginning of the First World War, there were always Romansh-speaking immigrants from the surrounding communities ( 22 % share in 1900, 1910 17%). Today, this group of people includes only individual persons, as the following table shows:

From the end of 2005, 44 inhabitants, 41 were Swiss nationals.
