Zillis- Reischen (Romansh Ziraun - Reschen ) is a municipality in the district of Shams in the district of Rhein Behind the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

St. Martin recalls the important Talkirche to Zillis, while the two stars symbolize the two parts of municipalities.
Geography
The two villages Zillis (Italian Zirano, Romansh ziran ) and Reischen ( 1,024 m above sea level. M. ) lie on the western slope of the Curvér Pintg because Taspegn ( 2'731 m). They lie east of the Rhine and rear part of the Shams. North of Reischen flows of Ual as Reschen over and flows into the Rhine. Reischen located on the hillside, the village Zillis ( Romansh Ziran; 945 m) in the valley. The municipality also the valley belongs to the left side of the Rhine. The Traversiner Tobel forms the north, the mountain range around Piz Curvér ( 2'972 m), the eastern border of the community. In addition to the two villages belong Spegnet ( 1,467 m) and Nash ( 1,670 m) and a number of individual farms to the community.
Of the total municipal area of nearly 25 square kilometers 1,048 ha is forest and 559 ha Mountains. In addition to 45 ha settlement area there are 794 ha of arable soil, of which 654 ha are cultivated as mountain pastures.

Languages
Originally the inhabitants spoke Sutselvisch, a Grison Romanesque dialect. Until 1850 the church was monolingual, but took the proportion of Romansh to 1910 to 78% off. In 1940, the novels, only a slight majority of 56%. After that, the language change accelerated towards the Germans always more. Today, German is the only language authorities, although 30% of the population understand Romansh.

History
Zillis has an old settlement. This is confirmed by finds from the Roman period and a church plant of 500 AD The place is also the capital of the whole region Shams.
