In petrographic sense is a metamorphic rock. The company Toscano builds the rock from two places ( Bärenloch and Parsagna ). The natural reservoir situation causes the Andeerer orthogneiss has to be reduced at an angle. Due to the very pronounced structure of the deposit can be this rock " in the camp " ( cloudy structure ) or " against the camp " get ( with streaky structure). Therefore, splitting rough plates are possible, which is not possible in many granites generally.

Internationally known is the Verde Andeer mainly because of its use for grave stones and slabs as well as in the interior. The typical green color is almost unrivaled among the natural stones. He comes from the minerals phengite (light green) and chlorite ( dark green).

Overburden is used almost 100 %. This produces bricks, aggregates for the concrete industry or for road and railway ballast. Except for large Slabs all work is carried out in the village.

At the old San Bernardino, a new quarry is open, in which a silver- gray version of the ortho gneiss is degraded. Its easy and domestic raw materials compared to open-minded approval structure in Switzerland, it is possible to open up new types of natural stone and dismantle. The material came under the trade name Rhein- quartzite in the trade.
