Simona Păucă

Simona Pauca (today Simona Rus) ( born September 19, 1969 in Azuga, Prahova County ) is a former Romanian gymnast and two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Career

At the age of 14, she took part in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and was together with her ​​teammate Ecaterina Szabó Olympic champion on balance beam. With the Romanian team, she won another gold medal in the all around. In the individual all-around, she was third. In 1993 she married the businessman Gheorghe Rus, and is now the mother of a son. She currently lives in Cluj- Napoca, where she works as a trainer.
