Siouxsie Sioux

Siouxsie Sioux ( born May 27, 1957 in Southwark, London; actually Susan Janet Ballion ) is a British musician, who is best known as the singer and songwriter of the group Siouxsie and the Banshees.

In 2007, she released her first solo album, " Mantaray ". In June 2013, it gave them two concerts in London.

Career

Ballion founded at the age of 19 years, the group " Siouxsie and the Banshees ," with which they 1978 debut album The Scream and then a number of other recordings published. 1981 also the project The Creatures was launched, in which she also acted as a singer and has grossed over a period of more than 20 years at irregular intervals albums and EPs.

In 1996, Siouxsie and the Banshees disbanded due to a variety of reasons, whereupon The Creatures were declared a major project of Siouxsie and her drummer / partner Budgie. The album Anima Animus one published in 1999 on their own label Sioux Records, as was the Eraser Cut EP a year earlier.

The Creatures too, were dissolved in 2004 and then Siouxsie now officially dedicated her solo career. This took already with the " An Evening with Siouxsie ... " tour in 2004, began. The tour was completed successfully with the concert " Siouxsie Dream Show" at the Royal Festival Hall. From this final concert, a live recording was created. This was released as the first official solo release by the singer under the title " Siouxsie Dream Show" as a DVD concert film.

In summer 2006, Siouxsie signed a contract with the label " W14 " (part of Universal Records ), which is headed by John Williams, with whom she already collaborated end of the 1980s by Polydor. Last Siouxsie collaborated with film composer Angelo Badalamenti ( including David Lynch strain Composer) on the song Careless Love for the soundtrack to the John Maybury film The Edge of Love (2008).

On 15 and 17 June 2013 were Siouxsie two concerts at Meltdown Festival at London's Royal Festival Hall. This was their first concerts after five years.
