Slavětín nad Metují

Slavětín nad Metují ( German Slawětin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers southwest of Nove Mesto nad Metují and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Slavětín nad Metují is on the left side of the river Metuje. Neighboring towns are Velka Jesenice and Doubravice in the north, and Nahořany Černčice in the northeast, and Bohuslavice Pohori the southeast, Rohenice in the south, and Stary Ples Jasenná in the West.

History

Slavětín nad Metují was first mentioned in writing in 1495. It first belonged to the reign Veselice ( Wesselitz ), then the rule Nove Mesto nad Metují and later to the rule Opočno. A smaller proportion belonged temporarily to rule Žamberk. End of the 18th century the neighboring village was Hlovov (formerly Lochov ) incorporated to Slavětín nad Metují.

Since 1750, the children received education in changing accommodation. 1895 a new school building was erected, took place in the classroom until 1965. Since the school year 1965, the children attend primary school in České Meziříčí. The former schoolhouse has been used since that time as a parish office and bücherei.
