Slobodan Grujić

Slobodan Grujic ( born August 24, 1973 in Novi Sad ) is a former Yugoslav and Serbian table tennis player today. He was in the 1990s and 2000s of the best players in Europe.

Career

Slobodan Grujic is the son of the table tennis national player Aleksandar Grujic and his wife Miroslava ( Mira ), a former professional ballet dancer. At age nine, Slobodan Grujic joined the Yugoslav Association of Vojvodina. Major international success he achieved soon at European Youth Championships. So he became European champion in 1987 in Athens the cadets in the singles, in the doubles with Tarik Hodzic he reached the final. A year later, he finished second in the individual behind Torben Wosik. Even at a junior he came in individual semi-finals in 1990, 1991 he was European champion.

In the adult area, he took from 1989 to 2009 14 times at the World Championships, where he in 2003 and 2007 with the quarter-finals recorded his best finish in doubles. From 1992 to 2008 he was nominated eight times for the European Championships, where he was in each case at least double in the quarterfinals and 1992 with Ilija Lupulesku and 2003 with Aleksandar Karakasevic even won bronze.

1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004 qualified Slobodan Grujic itself. For participation in the Olympic Games He reached in 1992 with Ilija Lupulesku and 2004 with Aleksandar Karakasevic reached the quarterfinals.

After 2009, Slobodan Grujic no longer appeared internationally on until today (2012 ).

National league

1997 Grujic left the Yugoslav club Novi Sad and joined the German Bundesliga TV patrons. After a two-year stint with SV Pluederhausen 1999 to 2001, he returned to patrons. With the men's team of TV patrons he was in 1997 and 2001 German Cup winner 2005 and 2006 he won the Champions League. In 2007 he moved to Turkey at Fenerbahçe SK. For the second half of the season 2010/2011 he was engaged by the Hessen League club TG Langenselbold with which he ascended into the league. 2013 obliged him 1.FC Saarbrücken for the second team in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Coach

Since July 2009, Slobodan Grujic works as a trainer at the Hessian Table Tennis Federation HTTV and support when needed the coaching staff of the German Table Tennis Association DTTB.

Private

Grujic is married to Elizabeta Harca, with the Yugoslav team in 1988 European Junior Champion. With her he had two sons.
