Slovenská Ves

Slovenská Ves ( German Windischdorf, Hungarian Szepestótfalu - to 1907 Tótfalu ) is a municipality in the north of Slovakia with 1864 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Kežmarok, a part of the Prešov Region.

Geography

The municipality is located in the eastern part of the basin Podtatranská kotlina, more specifically in the part Popradská kotlina the creek Biela. It lies in the shadow of the mountains Zipser Magura in the north and the Tatra Mountains (specifically Belianske Tatras) in the west. The center is located at an altitude of 650 m nm and is located 12 kilometers from Kežmarok.

History

Slovenská Ves was first mentioned in writing in 1311.
