Smidovichsky District
The Smidowitschski rayon (Russian Смидовичский район ) is a raion in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast. The administrative headquarters are Smidovich. The Rajon is on-Amur, which forms the border with the People's Republic of China in the south. In the north and east of the Rajon borders the Khabarovsk region, while the Jewish Autonomous Oblast of Birobidschanski rajon adjacent to the west.
History
The Rajon Smidovich 1934 was carved out of the Nationalrajon Birobidzhan.
Traffic
By Rajon lead the route of the Trans -Siberian railway and the highway R297 Amur (formerly M58 ) from Chita to Khabarovsk.
Economy
In Rajon there are industry and agriculture. Due to the good climatic conditions eggplant, buckwheat, barley, cucumber, oats, corn, peppers, tomatoes and wheat can be grown.
