Smile.dk

Smile.dk (own spelling SMiLE.dk ) is a Swedish pop group. It was founded in 1998 by the song Butterfly known that was used in the video game Dance Dance Revolution. Other well-known hits are Boys, Mrs. Wonderful, Dancing All Alone and Koko Soko

All members are from Sweden, but their music mainly sell in Denmark, which is the reason for that. Dk behind the name. Although the group does not come from Japan, they have now specializes in Japanese J-Pop.

The similarity to J-Pop has also meant that a number of online sources their most famous song Butterfly often incorrectly Japanese pop singer Ayumi Hamasaki zurechneten, although this expenditure to date not a single song with pure English lyrics has been published yet.

History

Veronica Almqvist and Nina Boquist formed the group under the name Smile and published in 1998, the album Smile. In Japan, a large popularity arose. The most popular song Butterfly was licensed by Konami and used in the video game Dance Dance Revolution. The popularity was so great that the band for 100,000 sales in Japan was excellent. Nina Boquist left the group after the first album by a solo career to start.

As a replacement Malin Kernby was added. The band was renamed to Smile.dk. In 2005, Almqvist and Kernby got married and it was decided first to publish new songs. Later it was announced to return, but without Kernby.

Return

2008, the producer Jamie Thompson announced in a popular Bubblegum Music Forum that the group will return to the global single release Doki Doki by. Kernby sang in these and other songs from the album Party Around The World. Hanna floor cell is to listen to the other songs on the album.

Smile.dk ( with Almqvist and Stock Zell) sang 9 August 2008 live at the San Japan in San Antonio, Texas. It was the first appearance in North America. It was followed by an appearance at the Sakura - Con 2009 in Seattle from 10 to 12 April 2009.

In April 2010 it was announced that Hanna floor cell will leave the group just to keep making music. That same year, Cecilia Reiskog came as a replacement to the group. 2011 Single Moshi Moshi has been published and is the first single, is involved in the Cecilia.

In April 2013 were by the label GlenDisc Records Album Party Around The World, which first appeared in 2008, republished. The announced album Make Up Collection to be published well in GlenDisc Records.

In October 2013 Reiskog announced on Facebook, to leave the group and privately to focus on her family. At the same time it was announced that Veronica will continue to sing alone. Currently working on Almqvist announced album which will be released in 2014.
