History

The Romans left, inter alia, a bridge and part of a Roman road. First records of the present location, under its original name Soveral, date from the 13th century.

Culture and sights

Its monuments include the old police station the Guarda Nacional Republicana, the historic community oven, the olive oil press with grinder, the Roman finds ( bridge and road section ), the manor Solar dos Beltrões ( with chapel ), and various religious buildings, including the Baroque church Igreja Paroquial de Sobral Pichorro (also Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Graça ).

A project ecologically - alternative forms of housing will be addressed at the site of the British.

Management

Sobral Pichorro is the seat of a municipality of the same name ( Freguesia ). It consists of the villages of Mata and Sobral Pichorro.
