Sollefteå GIF

Sollefteå GIF is a Swedish sports club from Sollefteå. The club is best known for its ski jumping department and football team that took three seasons in the second division. The handball team is now resolved once stood in the final of the Swedish championship.

History

Sollefteå GIF founded in 1898 and initially offered gymnastics and athletics, the football department was created in 1905. In the 1920s, initially were added a tennis court and later a handball as well as towards the end of the decade, boxing and table tennis departments. 1934 made ​​the club for the first time nationwide attention, as the handball team reached the final of the national championship. Football

The football team founded in 1905, the Sollefteå GIF broke up in 1917 by the club and went on in Sollefteå AIK. However, the separation lasted only three years, and then the two clubs merged. After introduction of the league system in Sweden in the late 1920s, the team first played in unterklassigen area.
