Somerset Lowry-Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore

Somerset Lowry - Corry, 2nd Earl Belmore ( born July 11, 1774 Dublin, † April 18, 1841 ) was an Irish nobleman and Governor of Jamaica.

Lowry - Corry was born on July 11, 1774, the second son of Armar Lowry - Corry, 1st Earl Belmore, and his wife Margaret Butler in Dublin. On 20 October 1800, he married Juliana Butler, the second daughter of Henry Butler, 2nd Earl of Carrick, and 1st degree cousin. The marriage produced three children.

From 1801 to 1802 it belonged to the House of Commons for the constituency of Tyrone. In 1802 he inherited the title Earl Belmore, because his older brother had already died in 1773. 1819 Earl Belmore was chosen by the Irish peers as one of its representatives in the House of Lords and was 1828-1832 Governor of Jamaica.
