Sophie Christiane of Wolfstein

Sophie Christiane of Wolfstein ( born October 24, 1667 Sulzbürg; † August 23, 1737 in Fredensborg Castle ) was a countess from Wolfenstein and by marriage Margravine of Brandenburg- Kulmbach.

Life

Sophie Christiane was a daughter of Count Albrecht Friedrich von Wolfenstein to Sulzbürg (1644-1693) from his marriage to Sophia Luise (1645-1717), daughter of Count Georg Wolfgang zu Castell and Remlingen. Sophie Christiane's maternal uncle was married to an aunt of Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf and Sophie Christiane was therefore brought up strictly religious in the sense of pietism.

They married on August 14, 1687 in Obersulzbürg lock the apanagierten Margrave Christian Heinrich of Brandenburg- Kulmbach ( 1661-1708 ). For the margrave's court in Bayreuth marriage, however, was " not befitting ".

After the birth of the first child the family moved into the Schoenberg Castle where the care as excellent Sophie Christine described the careful education of the children.
