South American Basketball Championship 1955

The Basketball South American Championship 1955, the sixteenth Basketball South American Championship, took place between the 13th and August 31, 1955 held in Cucuta, Colombia, which hosted the championship for the first time. Winner was the national team of Uruguay that could win the title for the seventh time, for the fourth time in a row. For the first time the first time took a record number of nine teams, including the national team of Venezuela in the tournament.
