South Woodford tube station

South Woodford is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 4 at the George Lane. In the year 2011 there were 4.39 million passengers these from the Central Line station.

The station was ( George Lane ) opened on August 22, 1856 under the name South Woodford by the Eastern Counties Railway ( ECR), as part of the newly built route from Stratford to Loughton, which was nine years later extended to Ongar. 1862 was the ECR in the Great Eastern Railway on, this turn in 1923 in the London and North Eastern Railway. After some structural adjustments sailed on December 14, 1947 for the first time Metro trains on the Central line the route. The name suffix George Lane was never officially used after the takeover by London Underground, but is still on some signs.
