Southern Africa

The term Southern Africa refers to the southern part of the African continent. It belongs to the sub-Saharan Africa. The exact delimitation to the north is unclear and is made differently in different subject areas.

In contrast to the North, West, East and Central Africa is not usually meant by a region of South Africa, but the state of South Africa. Therefore, it is called to distinguish the Southern Africa region.
