Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends
Spider -Man and his Amazing Friends ( orig.: Spider- Man and his Amazing Friends, dt at the beginning: "Spider -Man and his sensational friends" ) is an American animated series of Marvel Productions Ltd.. In the years 1981-1983 a total of three seasons were filmed.
Besides the well known Marvel characters Spider -Man and Iceman Firestar completes the group. Spider -Man and Iceman were already known from the Marvel universe, but Firestar was created especially for the series, as the producers feared that the familiar figure Human Torch could encourage children to play with fire. There are always references to other heroes of Marvel Comics. Thus is explained later, for example, that Firestar and Iceman were formerly members of the X -Men.

Peter Parker aka Spider -Man is college student at Empire State University of New York City. His studies he financed the way through the job as a photographer at the Daily Bugle, where of course he often sells pictures of Spider-Man to the choleric publisher J. Jonah Jameson. Besides, he is of course of his employment as a superhero after and taking care of his old Aunt May, where he also lives.
During his studies he taught the students Bobby Drake and Angelica Jones know, but without realizing that the two mutants are and as Iceman and Firestar also fight crime. After having three mutually revealed their secret identities, they decide a superhero team - the " Spider- Friends" - to become. In their first joint action, they help entrepreneurs succeed Tony Stark (aka Iron Man ) that establishes them as thanks to Aunt May's house a high technisiertes laboratory. Bobby, Angelica and her dog Miss Lion then pull a Peter. Only Aunt May must not know of their super powers. In their quest to Spider -Man, Iceman and Firestar meet the known villains from the Marvel universe, such as the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Kingpin, Kraven the Hunter or the Sandman.
The story is not told in the episodes in the correct temporal order. So the friends in the first few episodes already struggling as a coordinated team together. It was only in the episode " blind destructiveness " in the third season is reported as it ever comes to this cooperation. Also few other characters are properly introduced, as they are provided from the Spider-Man comics as known.

Spiderman aka Peter Parker
The main Spider-Man tells the story of Peter Parker.
Firestar: Angelica Jones was a child from a poor family that did not have very good luck in life. Since she could not control their abilities and therefore often passed accidents, she was teased by her classmates ( " Angelica, The Witch " ( Jinx Jones) ). After the sudden death of her beloved grandmother, she lived alone with her father, who did not notice the strange heat forces that developed during puberty Angelica always more. It was the first real use of her powers made her accept it. She saved her father and turned it the first time in Firestar. Here she is wearing a skin-tight yellow suit, a red mask and its otherwise smooth, brown hair is curly and fiery red. Angelica decided to become a superhero, but to keep her true identity a secret. Only later she met Iceman, who introduced her to the X -Men. Professor Xavier taught them to use their powers properly. Firestar is slightly stronger than a normal woman, it can generate microwave energy and emit in different forms ( eg, as fireballs, heat rays, fire walls). The waves also produce a glowing aura around them, which they can use to fly. Your body temperature may increase so much that it can even melt rock. Their weakness is cold that makes them lose their powers.

Iceman: Robert " Bobby" Drake was born with the ability to freeze moisture surrounding it, but only during adolescence, he learned to control the forces. Bobby can lower his body temperature to well below zero, thereby surrendering also freezing cold. In addition, it can generate snow and ice in almost any shape and even transform his entire body into ice. However, his eyes are bright green. Production and publication
The series was produced from 1981 to 1983 by Marvel Productions, DePatie - Freleng and Mihahn, with DePatie Freleng got out after 15 episodes. The music was composed by Johnny Douglas. Some of the sequences are annotated by inventor Stan Lee personally from the off.
The episode " The trick with the mask " corresponds in large parts of the plot of the episode " Spider -Man against Spider- Man," the 1981 Spider- Man series.
The series was broadcast on 12 September 1981 to 10 September 1983 in three seasons on NBC as a Saturday morning cartoon. In Germany, the series was broadcast for the first time from December 1, 1990 to May 4, 1991 RTLplus. This was followed by reps at Fox Kids, Jetix and in the program of Premiere.

Firestar had after the serial number of appearances in Marvel Comics, so in Uncanny X -Men # 193 and its own mini - series. Also published in 2006, two stories under the title Spider - Man Family: Amazing Friends, which were based on the series.
