The Stadio Nuovo Romagnoli is a football stadium in the Italian town of Campobasso in the Molise region of the province. Currently, the 2002 newly founded club Polisportiva Nuovo Campobasso Calcio uses the stadium. The sports complex also bears the nickname Selva Piana and has a total of 25,000 places. There are efforts; to name the stadium after Michele Scorrano. He was in the 1970s and 80s captain of Campobasso Calcio and died of a heart attack at the age of 57 years in February 2009.

History

Was designed the stadium by Costantino Rozzi; the former president of Ascoli Calcio was also, among other things responsible for the Stadio Cino e Lillo del stages Duca, Ascoli Piceno, Stadio Via del Mare in Lecce and the Stadio Partenio in Avellino. After the start of construction in 1983, the new football stadium was inaugurated two years later. The first game played by the then club Campobasso Calcio against the then reigning champions Juventus. It was the first knockout round of the Coppa Italia 1984/85 and in the first leg, the hosts defeated the Juve 1-0 gates. The return match ended in a 1:4 victory of Turin.

The stadium of Campobasso is almost identical to the Stadio Ciro Vigorito in Benevento; which is also by Costantino Rozzi. A basic rectangular shape with all-round double-decker grandstands; which reach close to the playing field from natural grass. Only a part of the main grandstand is protected by a roof. The Napoli had until January 2002 to leave his native Stadio San Paolo since the stadium was damaged in a storm in September 2001. During this time, the crew of the SSC moved to the Stadium of Campobasso.
