The municipality is located 446 m above sea level.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Aichegg, Kalchberg, Muggauberg, Raßberg and Stallhofen.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 July 1985. Coat Description: In blue a gold -lined red pile, is about a growing golden Abtstab three golden balls in trefoil.

Culture and sights

  • Parish: St. Nicholas the dedicated. The church is the oldest surviving building in the village. It has the architectural styles of three eras ( Romanesque, late Gothic, Baroque). The oldest part with a wooden flat ceiling between the tower and front ship, originally Romanesque, in 1520 replaced by a Gothic vault. During this time, the presbytery was added. Late 16th, early 17th century, a 45 meters high, equipped with loopholes defense tower was built. Today, the tower is at the same time the church tower.
  • Gustinus Ambrosi - Museum: the Austrian sculptor and poet Gustinus Ambrosi (1893-1975) designed a private residence in age Stallhofen; in the building now houses the Gustinus Ambrosi - Museum
  • Krampus Museum and Museum of Antiquities: both museums are located in the inn Rößl ( host church )

Public institutions

Fire department

In order to provide the residents in an emergency sufficient help, the market town Stallhofen has one of the most powerful brigades in the district Voitsberg. With around 80 members and five vehicles, and a Jet Boat volunteer fire department Stallhofen is prepared for every conceivable emergency.

Police

In Stallhofen one of seven police stations of the district police commandos Voitsberg is established.
