Stampede Corral

Stampede Corral (also known as the Calgary Corral ) is an ice hockey and rodeo stadium in Calgary, Canada. The stadium has 6,475 seats and offers additional standing room. It is used for the annual exhibition Calgary Stampede.

History

The stadium was built in 1950 for 1.25 million CAD ​​to replace Victoria Arena, home of the Calgary Stampeders Hockey Club. It was officially opened on 15 December 1950. The first hockey game was carried out on 26 December, when the Stampeders defeated the Edmonton Flyers in front of 8729 spectators 5-0.

The Stampede Corral, the World Figure Skating Championships in 1972 carried out. At the Olympic Winter Games figure skating competitions in 1988, and individual ice hockey matches in Stampede Corrals were also discharged. The stadium is also frequently used for the Canadian Davis Cup team.
