Starków, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Starkov ( German: Altbatzdorf ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in Lower Silesia. It is located nine kilometers south-west of Kłodzko to the rural community it belongs to.

Geography

Starkov is located on the road between Stary Wielisław after Gorzanów. To the northeast lies the 400 m high plate Hubel ( Polana ). Neighboring locations are: the north abandoned settlement Dunaj ( Duhnehäuser ) and Stary Wielisław, northeast Krosnowice, southeast Topolice and Gorzanów, south Nowa Lomnica and Stara Lomnica and west Starkówek.

History

Altbatzdorf was first mentioned in 1338. In this year the minister Henricus from Bertholdi villa witnessed a deed of foundation. It was initially referred to as Bertholdsdorf and Berzdorf. Until the 16th century naturalized itself - to distinguish a neighboring town of the same - the name of a Altbatzdorf. It belonged to Glatzer district in Glatzer country with which it shared the story of his political and religious affiliation. In the Thirty Years' War, it lost its status as a vicarage. At that time it was supplied by the parish Altwilmsdorf, where it was then assigned as a branch. 1621 chalices, bells, vestments were, among other things stolen from the Glatzer anti-imperial occupation of the church.

The village consisted of a Domini Alan part and a Freirichtergut. The Domini Alan part had 1340 Glatzer citizens Nicholas Long and Fritz Vogt. They sold their property in 1342 the brothers Otto and Reinczko of Glubocz ( Glaubitz ). This sold it in 1349 to the Prague Archbishop Ernst of Pardubice and his brothers William and Smil. The purchase was confirmed in Prague on May 31, 1349 by King Charles IV. 1350, the three brothers gave this portion along with other possessions of of them donated Glatzer Augustinian provost. After the provost was largely lost in the turmoil of the Reformation, the last provost Christoph Kirmeser gave all to the pin belonging possessions of the Hospitallers Coming Glatz, which passed to the Jesuits from 1624. They acquired to 1602 and the Freirichtergut with all the rights and the related subjects and transforming it into a stately Vorwerk. After the Jesuits were expelled at the beginning of the Thirty Years' War, whose goods Valentin von Reichenau managed. The Barbican 1622 passed by Glatzer commander Franz von Thurn the Johann Ecker village and Labitsch, but was shortly afterwards burned by imperial troops. After the conquest of the county of Glatz in 1622 by the Imperial, the Jesuits were given back their property and built the Vorwerk again. In February 1648 Imperial troops plundered the village.

After the Silesian Wars Altbatzdorf came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. After the dissolution of the Jesuit order in 1773, whose goods were first administered by the Royal School Office. From this acquired Altbatzdorf 1788 Countess Franziska von Schlegenberg, Erbfrau to rain village, from which it passed in 1788 to her son Johann Nepomuk Imperial Count of Schlegenberg. He sold the estate in 1805 to the Superintendent Ignatz Wanke. For this year are proved: a branch church, a rectory, a school, a stately Vorwerk, 17 service farmers, the shoemaker, blacksmith and Schneider and 25 gardeners and cottagers.

After the reorganization of Prussia Altbatzdorf belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was from 1816 to 1945 the county Glatz incorporated. 1939 counted 343 inhabitants. As a result of the Second World War, it fell in 1945 as the whole of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Starkov. Subsequently, the German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland, which had fallen to the Soviet Union. The number of inhabitants declined significantly. 1975-1998 belonged to Starkow Voivodeship Wałbrzych. Ecclesiastical Starkow gepfarrt is now the church of St. Margaret in Stara Lomnica.

Free judges share

This Richtergut was initially under the jurisdiction of the Bohemian royal upper chamber. After Ernest of Pardubice and his brothers William and Smil the Domini Alan part of 1350 gave the Glatzer Augustinian monastery, subjugated Emperor Charles IV also the judge and whose estate the Augustinian monastery.

Known owner of the Richterguts 1349-1366 were a Henslin and 1416 the brothers Sigmund, and Stephan Augustin Bertholdsdorf called Beyer. In 1461 it had a Arnest, 1520-1533 a Veit, 1546 Hans Scholz, Andreas Adler later and 1574 Berzdorfer Thomas, who was married to Catherine of Pannwitz from Lomnitz. Their son Konrad Berzdorfer sold the Richtergut 1602 Glatzer the Jesuits, who already possessed the Domini Alan part.

Attractions

  • The previously mentioned 1338 St. Nicholas Church was rebuilt in 1400 as a Gothic hall church and rebuilt in the late 17th century and in 1794. The sculptures of the Madonna with Child and Saints Barbara and Santa Claus come from the period around 1500. The high altar was built around 1690, the pulpit to 1730. The church is surrounded by a defensive wall. On passage through the gate are stone figures of St. Nicholas and St. John of Nepomuk from the 18th century.
