Stelios Malezas (Greek Στέλιος Μαλεζάς, born March 11, 1985 in Katerini ) is a Greek football player.

Career

Malezas played in his youth in his native town of Katerini. With 18 years of Macedonians AEP Katerini joined the Greek giants PAOK Thessaloniki. In his first year he came there not used and was loaned for one year to the third division Irodotos Irakleiou to Crete, where in 30 games this season he gained as a regular player match practice.

Back at PAOK Thessaloniki it took another three years until he was from 2008 an integral part of Erstligamannschaft. He did not play as before in the midfield, but in central defense. After a successful 2009/10 season in which his team finished in third place in the championship, Malezas moved into the focus of Otto Rehhagel, the former coach of the national team. End of February 2010 he was invited to a preparatory game for the World Cup 2010. Although he was did not play, he was on 1 June 2010 in the 23- man squad of the Greeks for the World Cup in South Africa.

On 30 July 2012, he joined with a two-year contract for a transfer fee of 450,000 Euros to Bundesliga Fortuna Dusseldorf climber that increases in the case of class integrity of a Fortuna by 50,000 euros. His competitive debut for Fortuna Dusseldorf, is used in their squad Malezas as a defender, he completed a 1-0 victory in the DFB Cup against Wacker Burghausen. Shortly after, his first assignment in the Bundesliga followed on Matchday 1 in a 2-0 win in the away game against FC Augsburg.
