Stephen " Mick " McManus ( born September 10 1982 in Lanark ) is a Scottish football player.

Career

McManus comes from the youth department of Celtic and made his debut in 2003 for the first team under Martin O'Neill. Then he was able to establish in the team at the Bhoys under Gordon Strachan. In the season 2005/ 06 McManus met eight times in the opponent's goal, which is an impressive value for a central defender.

McManus was the first league match against Kilmarnock in 2006/ 07 Celtics captain since the -budgetary captain Neil Lennon was locked. After Lennon had migrated to Nottingham, McManus was appointed captain of Celtic.

McManus completed on 11 October 2006 in the match against the Ukraine his international debut for the Scottish national team when he came on. Against Lithuania met " Mick " 2-1 for Scotland, where he is an important pillar of the defense department, for the first time.
