Steve Gorn

Steve Gorn (* in New York City ) is an American world and jazz musicians (soprano saxophone, flutes).

Gorn studied composition at the Pennsylvania State University. Under the influence of musicians such as Bismallah Khan, Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan his interest in Eastern music was born. In 1969 he went to Benares, where he met the Sarangimeister Gopal Misra and then in Calcutta students of Bansurimeisters Gour Goswami was.

After his return to the U.S. he worked as Bansurispieler with musicians such as Paul Simon, Richie Havens, Paul Winter, Jack DeJohnette and Glen Velez together. He has composed for film, television, dance and theater and undertook worldwide tours. In 1979 the album Asian Journal.

He then took on several solo albums and worked as a flutist at photographs of Andreas Vollenweider, Jai Uttal, Laura Simms, Graham Parker, Priscilla Herdman and Najima with. In 1995 he undertook with Jack DeJohnette on a tour of Europe and Africa. In 2006, he appeared with Shades of Time. In 2007 he toured with Karl Berger in Germany.
