Steve Harris (musician)

Stephen Percival Harris ( born March 12, 1956 in Leytonstone, London, England) is co-founder, bassist and songwriter of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He is now the only remaining original member of the band.

Life

Prior to his music career Harris played football in the youth team of West Ham United, where he was considered a promising talent, but then decided yet for the music. Harris taught himself the bass playing at the age of 17 years himself and was influenced by several musicians, including Chris Squire, Mike Rutherford, Geddy Lee, Andy Fraser and John Entwistle.
