Steve Roach (musician)

Steve Roach ( born February 16, 1955 in La Mesa, California) is an American musician from the ambient genre.

Originally Steve Roach was a professional motorcycle racer. At the age of 20 he taught himself, inspired by the music of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Vangelis, even the synthesizer playing at. His music is heavily influenced by the beauty and diversity of the encountered mainly in the southern U.S. landscapes. For Roach, the music is an important means to process its associations with nature. Stylistic characteristics of its sound art are in addition to using the usual genre pad sounds by different synthesizers, not infrequently, the use of drums and the didgeridoo, which in some cases seemingly shamanic soundscapes leads.
