Stig Berge

Stig Berge ( born March 28, 1942 in Meldal ) is a former Norwegian orienteers.

Mountains in 1965 was peer Staff Second at the Nordic Championships in Hokksund behind his compatriot. The relay race he won together in a team with Ola Skarholt, Åge Hadler and Staff. The following year, the first World Championships were held in Finnish Fiskari. Here overtook the Norwegian team Dagfinn Olsen, Skarholt, Hadler, mountains the bronze medal. Also in 1968 reached the Norwegian season in third place. At the World Championships in 1970 in Eisenach, the now 28 -year-old mountains sealed the biggest success of his career. In individual competition over 14.5 kilometers, he won with a lead of 1:21 minutes, the gold medal in front of the Swiss Charles John. Also in the season won mountains together with Ola Skarholt, Per Åge Hadler Fosser and gold. He was runner-up in 1972 behind Åge Hadler. Hadler referred him to this nearly five minutes on the second rank. The Norwegian squadron was disqualified.

Mountain won four Norwegian Championships 1964-1971. He started for the teams Løkken IF from his home town of Meldal and NTHI. Norwegian Season master he was in 1963, 1965 and 1973. 1970 he was elected Athlete of the Year in Norway.
