Stoyan Yankoulov

Stojan Jankulow ( Stoyan Yankoulov, Стоян Янкулов, born September 10, 1966) is a Bulgarian drummer and percussionist.

Jankulow studied at the music school Ljubomir Pipkow and the Academy of Music Pancho Vladiguerov percussion instruments. He was then a member of the Big Band of the Bulgarian radio and played next in rock, jazz and folk bands. He joined folk and jazz festivals in Bulgaria, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Holland, France, Turkey, the United States and Macedonia and has worked with Bobby McFerrin, Okay Temiz, Carlo Rizzo, Enver Ismailov, Ivo Papazov, Milcho Leviev and Simeon Shterev together.

In 2004 he was awarded the Bulgarian " Crystal Lira Award" in the category of jazz. He is a member of various formations, including the group " Vapirov - Donchev Yankoulov - " ( with Anatoly Vapirov and Antoni Donchev ), the " Stoyan Yankoulov Quintet " ( Elitsa Todorova with, Mihail Yosifov, Ivan Shopov and Vesselin Vesselinov ), the " percussion trio "(with Carlo Rizzo and Kornel Horvath ) and the " Zig Zaf trio "(with Peter Ralchev and Ateshghan Yuseinov ). In 2007 he participated with Elitsa Todorova at Euro Vision Song Contest and came in fifth. Also for the contest in 2013, the duo was determined after an internal election as Bulgarian representative, but bowed out of.
