The city Štramberk ( German Štramberk, also Strahlenberg ) is located in the Moravian Moravian-Silesian Region (Czech Republic).

History

The 1211 first mentioned mountain town in the center of Štramberk plateau in the foothills of the Beskids, is also called the "Moravian Bethlehem ". It was declared a city by the son of the Bohemian king John of Luxembourg, the Moravian Margrave Jan Heinrich of Luxembourg on December 4, 1359. On May 8, 1241 ( Ascension ) the Christians of the city defeated the Mongol army.
