Stranded is the third album by British art-rock band Roxy Music. It was released on 1 November 1973.

Genesis

The making of the album was dominated by personnel changes the band Instrumentation and rumors, Roxy Music would dissolve. Brian Eno left the band in June 1973 in a dispute with Bryan Ferry. He was replaced by ex- Curved Air Eddie Jobson, who played alongside the keyboards and violin. On bass John Porter was replaced by John Gustafson, who was already in appearance with Quatermass as a vocalist and bassist as well as a studio musician. Stranded was recorded in September 1973 in London's AIR Studios at the same time with Brian Eno's debut album Here Come the Warm Jets with producer Chris Thomas. Eno Here Come the Warm Jets produced in September 1973 in the Majestic Studios, also in London, itself Mackay, Manzanera and Thompson were involved as both instrumentalists Stranded as well as Here Come the Warm Jets, Manzanera as co-composer for two titles of Enos Thompson album and as an arranger of a title. Producer of Stranded, Chris Thomas, played on Eno's debut at a title next to Busta Cherry Jones of the Sharks a bass track. The resolution rumors about Roxy Music culminated in October 1973 with the release of Ferry's solo album These Foolish Things, on which he reinterpreted known classics with his voice. The rumors about the release of Roxy Music subsided only after the appearance of the same time as the single Streetlife published album.

Reception

The album was rated consistently positive. The magazine sounds found on Stranded " raucous rock ' n ' roll pieces, hopeful love songs and dramatic songs ." Piero Scaruffi gave the album 7 out of 10. From Allmusic, the album received 4.5 stars. The magazine Rolling Stone awarded 4 out of 5 stars.
