Streetheart (band)

Street Heart is the name of a 1976 founded and in 1984 resolved the Canadian rock band.

History

Street Heart emerged in Regina ( Saskatchewan ) by Daryl Gutheil and Ken Sinnaeve based band called " Wascana " from a early 1970s. Singer Kenny Shields joined the group, when the members were relocated to Winnipeg, and the band was first and later renamed to " Witness", in " Street Heart". In 1976 guitarist Paul Dean and drummer Matthew Frenette to the band that released their debut album Meanwhile Back in Paris published in 1978. In the following year appeared Under Heaven Over Hell, but Dean Paul had left the band before the recordings and was replaced by John Hannah.

Matthew Frenette left Streetheart and also founded in 1980 with Paul Dean and other musicians, the band Loverboy. The third Streetheart album, Quicksand Shoes was recorded with drummer Herb Ego and appeared in 1980. During the same year, the band left their previous label WEA and switched to Capitol Records. When Capitol released, also in 1980, the album Drugstore Dancer.

In 1983 the last album of the band, Dancing With Danger. Despite success in Canada ( the album where he received a gold record ) dissolved the band in 1984 on.

Trivia

  • The album Dancin 'With Danger was published in 2012 and remastered again.
  • Ace Frehley worked on in 1988 Streetheart Dancing With Danger Song from the eponymous album and took it on under the title Dancin 'With Danger for the Frehley 's Comet album Second Sighting.
  • Ken Sinnaeve replaced after his death, the bassist Scott Smith at Loverboy. This now consists of three founding members of Street Heart of the group.
  • Drummer Billy Carmassi is the brother of Montrose drummer Denny Carmassi
