The armed forces base ( SKB ) of the Bundeswehr was established in October 2000 as an independent military organization area, but is not a separate part of armed force. History

2000 to February 2013

The two pillars of the armed forces base were the Joint Support Command and the Armed Forces Office. The Joint Support Command led the troops to accomplish the tasks of the armed forces based in the military areas and in use. These included, for example, leadership support troops, logistics troops, military police, military band and strategic reconnaissance forces for. Reorientation of the Bundeswehr

On September 20, 2011 Defence Minister Thomas de Maizière has announced that as part of the reorientation of the Bundeswehr is planned to reduce the number of active soldiers in the armed forces based on a maximum of 38,750. The armed forces base ( KdoSKB ) command in Bonn is the Command of the armed forces base.
