Studio 100

Studio 100 is a Flemish company that produces popular children's television series. The company also has five theme parks, which are visited annually by about 2.5 million visitors and convert approximately 50 million euros a year.

History

Studio 100 was founded in 1996 by Gert Verhulst, Danny Verbiest and Hans Bourlon.

At the foundation of Studio 100 1996 they had only a series called Samson and Gert. Immediately they decided to create another series to make themselves known. They produced the series Kabauter Plop, which is aired on the VTM since 1997.

In 1999 the company expanded dramatically. Four new projects were started in Flanders: a musical, a movie and two television series. VTM was asked if they would like to support the musical and the movie financially. In October of the same year gave the studio known 100 and VMMa ( Vlaamse Media Maatschappij ) that they rebuild the theme park Meli Park in today's Plopsaland De Panne.

Studio 100 took over in 2000, the popular girl group K3 by Niels William.

Danny Verbiest announced in 2005 that he no longer wants to play the role of Samson in Samson and Gert. Shortly after he announced his resignation from Studio 100. In the following years, many other series were started, such as Piet Piraat, Mega Mindy, Spring ( TV soap opera ), House of Anubis, and many more. Also in 2005, the purchase of the Belgian theme parks Telecoo at the waterfalls of Coo was that for the 2007 season turned into " Plopsa Coo ". Furthermore, it was on Christmas Eve of the same year, the first indoor park of the studio, the " Plopsa Indoor" in Hasselt, opened.

2007 opened Studio 100 in order to publish some of his productions in other countries. WIR3 ( a copy of K3) was introduced in Germany, where they were immediately in the charts. In addition, Fred & Samson, was broadcast the French -language equivalent to Samson and Gert, on the French television channel RTL Club in Wallonia and Brussels. Furthermore, a series called Bumba, which is about a clown who sold to other countries.

In 2008 bought Studio 100 EM.Entertainment of EM.Sport Media, including their rights to some foreign '70s TV hits like Heidi, Vicky, Maya the Bee and Pippi Longstocking.

In April 2010, the first theme park of the studio outside Belgium was awarded the " Plopsa Indoor" in Dalen in Coevorden opened.

On 3 November 2010, the studio announced the purchase of 100 Holiday Parks in Germany known.
