The Neuwirthaus ( Porscheplatz ) Train station (also Neuwirthaus - Porscheplatz ) is a station in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen in the network of the Stuttgart S-Bahn. According to the Railway Construction and Operating Rules, however, it is not a train station, but a breakpoint.
History
Between 1933 and 1937 originated in the north of the settlement Neuwirthaus Zuffenhausen. For the approximately 1,500 inhabitants of the German Reichsbahn built on the Württemberg Black Forest Railway a breakpoint - southeast of the building, at the former Empire Road 10 The opening took place on 22 May 1937. The now defunct wooden station building consisted of a service room and a waiting room. From 1932 to 1939, the Reichsbahn built the Black Forest Railway between Zuffenhausen and Renningen of double track. At the breakpoint was on 1 December 1937, the commissioning of the second track, the future took up the traffic towards Zuffenhausen. Began in 1940, the electric operation between Stuttgart Hbf and Weil der Stadt.
After the Second World War, the area developed at the Schwieberdinger road into a major industrial center of Stuttgart. In 1950 moved back to the Porsche KG, which had moved its headquarters during the war to Gmünd in Carinthia. By commuter traffic levels rose at the breakpoint. The inhabitants of the Neuwirtshaussiedlung used rather the bus after the Stuttgart trams AG joined the district with a stop at the North Road at its scheduled.
On 10 June 2001, the station was given the additional name Porscheplatz. In October 2005, construction began on the new Porsche Museum in the immediate vicinity. The sports car manufacturer called for a restoration of the now unkempt acting breakpoint. Because with the opening of the museum on January 31, 2009 increased its importance sustainable. Railway operation
