Subaru Impreza (second generation)#Saab 9-2X

The Saab 9-2X is a car model of the Swedish car brand Saab. Produced the 9-2X in Japan in the Ota- Gunma plant by Fuji Heavy Industries together with the identical Subaru Impreza.

The two models vary in appearance at first glance very little, although only the passenger compartment and the doors are the same. Fender, hood, tailgate, lights and bumpers have been changed for Saab. The interior of the Saab was largely taken from the Impreza, which helped him rise to the nickname Saabaru.

The first Saab 9-2X possessed the permanent four-wheel drive and boxer engines. You could choose as a base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer with 123 kW ( 165 hp) and a boxer turbo engine with 2.0 liter displacement and 169 kW ( 227 hp ) for the top version Aero. The production of the model was discontinued at the end of the model year 2006 due to lack of demand. The vehicle was exclusively available in North America where the models offered by Saab should be extended to a slightly smaller and less expensive vehicle.
