Sun Deng

Sun Deng (孙 登Chinese, IPA (high Chinese) [ [ su̯ən5 d̥ʌŋ5 ]]) (* 209, † 241 ) was a crown prince of Wu Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms in ancient China.

He was the eldest son of the King and later Emperor of Wu, Sun Quan, and was declared by him 221 for the crown prince. This was a reaction to Liu Bei Emperor of Shu Han proclamation. In the year 222 demanded the Wei Emperor Cao Pi, Sun Quan that surrendering to him the crown prince as a hostage in the capital Luoyang. Sun Quan refused and explained with the introduction of a new era ( Huangwu ,黄 武) its independence.

When Sun Quan to 229 as Emperor declared ( era Huanglong ,黄龙), got the relationship with Shu at risk because Liu Bei saw in it an affront to the most treasured of his heritage of Han Dynasty. But the Shu- Minister Zhuge Liang was able to achieve with his older brother, the Wu minister, Zhuge Jin, a unification and stabilization of relations. That same year, Sun Quan relocated to the desire of Zhang Hong, the capital city of Wuchang by Jianye (建业, today's Nanjing, Jiangsu), and gave Sun Deng military and civilian authority over the western empire. Lu Xun should serve him as an advisor.

Sun Deng's wife was the daughter of the senior general Zhou Yu, Zhou Ying. She gave birth to three sons Sun Deng Sun Fan, Sun Ying, and Sun Xi.

Sun Deng's early death in 241, his son Sun Ying was appointed the Marquis of Wu.
