Superscripts and Subscripts

The Unicode block high and subscript mark ( superscripts and subscripts, U 2070 to U 209 F) has letters, numbers and mathematical signs, which often have high - or subscript are in various scientific notations. In this way, such as formulas such as H2O, Na , MoO4 - without changes at the level of the font, so also in Unicode, encoded as plain text, can be written: H ₂ O, Na ⁺ MoO ₄ ⁻ (without Unicode would only H2O, Na MoO4 - possible). The signs have been included for compatibility reasons and are not intended to offer as a self-contained support.

The superscript numbers 1, 2, and 3, which are already included in ISO 8859-1, located in the Unicode block Latin -1 Supplement.
