The Supra Monte is located in the Barbagie and after Gennargentu the second highest mountain in Sardinia.

The Supra Monte extends to the central east coast of Sardinia, in a sweeping plateau of Mesozoic limestone in the area of ​​communities Oliena, Orgosolo Dorgali and Urzulei. The average peak height is 900 m, while the highest point, Mount Corrasi, reaches 1463 m. In the saddle to the nearby 1349 meters to Punta sos Nido the " Cooperativa Enis Monte Maccione " operates a hostel and a camping site in the largest oak forest of the island. The landscape is highly dissected, often interrupted by narrow gorges, imposing limestone peaks, vast plateaus, deep sinkholes and hidden ravines. Due to the rugged limestone that absorbs any precipitation and passes it in large underground lakes, lacking any surface water. Parts of it occur in the karst spring Su Gologone light again. The most important natural attraction in the mountain region is dug from the river Riu Flumineddu Gola Gorroppu, a gorge, which is one of the largest in Europe.

The periodically changing murals (wall paintings ) Orgosolo form a cultural highlight in the mountain region - as a graffiti -like, sardinia typical facade images they reflect, in various art styles, especially the political and social situation on the island.
