The small town Suurbraak (also Zuurbraak ) located around 20 kilometers east of Swellendam and Heidelberg in the west of the town of Swellendam, Overberg District, Western Cape Province in South Africa in altitude of 220 meters above sea level at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains. 2011 Suurbraak had 2,252 inhabitants.

Here is a mission station of the London Missionary Society was founded in 1812 - part of the former mission may, after a restoration carried out in the meantime, be visited. The missionaries wanted to primarily educate the Khoikhoi and convert to Christianity. 1837 then a church was built, but about 1870 the missionaries left the place. Since 1876, the church belongs to the Dutch Reformed Church.
