Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

The Holy Cross Voivodeship (Polish WojewĂłdztwo świętokrzyskie ) is one of the 16 regions into which the Republic of Poland is divided. The smallest to Opole Region was established in the local government reform in 1999 from the Kielce Voivodeship and parts of Tarnobrzeg and Radom. Named is the province after the Holy Cross Mountains and the Holy Cross Monastery located there. Economically important are the building materials industry, metal processing and agriculture.

Coat of arms

Description: The quartered in blue and red emblem front has a golden cross of Lorraine and compared with nine in the manner asked three times three gold six-pointed star. Back up a gold confess änderter and geschnäbelter silver eagle. In opposing field four silver bars on red starting.

Administrative divisions

The Holy Cross Voivodeship is divided into 13 counties, the provincial capital Kielce remains acyclic. The district of the same name belongs not to the city itself.

Largest cities

Kielce is the only major city in the Polish Province of the Holy Cross. Run here - in a central location - the main roads of the Holy Cross together.

Economy

Expressed in comparison with the EU GDP in purchasing power standards reached the province in 2006 an index of 39.8 ( EU-2 = 100). The unemployment rate in 2005 was 19%. Until December 2009 it dropped to 14.7 percent, which corresponded to 83,800 people.
