Sydney Olympic FC

The Sydney Olympic Football Club is an Australian football club from Sydney, for a long time in the National Soccer League ( NSL) and was represented today in the New South Wales Premier League.

The club was founded in 1958 as Pan Hellenic Soccer Club of Greek immigrants. As a founding member of the NSL, the club changed its name in 1977 in Sydney Olympic. Except in the 1979/80 season in which they were relegated to the New South Wales First Division, the team was a member until 2004, the highest Australian league.

In the 1980s, one twice won the NSL Cup (1983, 1985) and was several times in the Grand Final of the NSL, which you could win the first time in 1990. The 1990s were less successful. Between 2001 and 2003, called the Association Olympic Sharks. In the 2001 /02 season could win the NSL title against Perth Glory, in the following season they lost in the final against the same opponent. Since the dissolution of the NSL 2004 Sydney Olympic plays in the New South Wales Premier League.
