The Perlhuhnwels ( Synodontis angelicus ) belongs to the family of Catfishes ( Mochokinae ) the Mochokidae family. The species was scientifically described in 1891. It is introduced as an aquarium fish since at least 1954. The distribution area is almost the entire Congo Basin, including the basins of the Ubangi and Kasai, possibly the Ogooue Basin in Gabon, but not the Zambian part of the Congo - feeder. Reproductive biology

The propagation of this species is not known precisely, but it is believed that they are free spawners.
