Syrian parliamentary election, 1998

Parliamentary elections for the People's Council, the unicameral Parliament of Syria were held between 30 November and 1 December 1998. It was the last elections, which were held under President Hafiz al -Assad.

The result was a victory for the ruling Baath Party, which won 135 of the 250 seats. The turnout was 82.2 %. A total of 5.50194 million people gave their voice.
