Tairua

Tairua is a small town on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula on the North Island of New Zealand. The city has about 1,500 inhabitants and is located about 50 km east of Thames (via the State Highway SH 25a ) and about 150 km east of Auckland. Tairua is located on the Pacific Ocean and is the obvious place for attractions such as the Hotwater Beach, Cathedral Cove Sailors Grave, Cooks Beach and Pauanui.

Tairua greatly developed in recent years into a tourist resort. Many campervan and tent sites, Holiday Homes were built. The formed by the Tairua Tairua Harbour River offers excellent opportunities for numerous marinas.
